Morgan+Pollard Landscapes was engaged as the main contractor for the design+build of the Dyslexia Discovery Experience Exhibit at 21 Worchester Boulevard, Christchurch.
Roger Pollard, Glen Turpin and Jason Stewart from Morgan+Pollard Landscapes took the project from the early design stages through to construction.
It is a world class exhibit created in collaboration with Richard Taylor, Weta Workshop, Mackenzie Thorpe, Ron Davis, the Britten family, and Paul Dibble.
Involvement:
Morgan+Pollard Associates - Landscape Architecture
Morgan+Pollard Visual - 3D Imagery
Morgan+Pollard Landscapes - Landscape Implementation & Sculpture Installation
Weta Workshops - bronze sculpture “Inner Struggle” and a steel plasma cut ribbon of words that float through the air adding a whimsical feature.
Mackenzie Thorpe - sculpture “Falling in Love” weaves an emotional element into the exhibit.
Ron Davis - simple pair of “Ron’s Shoes” created in bronze by Weta Workshop and made available in the exhibit for visitors to step inside of.
Paul Dibble & the Britten Family - Inspired by John Britten’s life he has created “Free Flight” a large bronze wing like sculpture designed to allow it’s audience to touch and climb. A fitting tribute to John and his dreams of speed and flight.
The Dyslexia Discovery Exhibit is an outdoor gallery experience open to the public, located in Christchurch, New Zealand. The primary motivation behind the creation of the Dyslexia Discovery Exhibit is to confront this reality, challenge the views that create this reality, and offer a seed of hope that may grow in power to shift mindsets and remove the shame that so often surrounds dyslexia.
The gallery provides knowledge, inspiration and encouragement for all dyslexics by showcasing the artistic, engineering, creative and business achievements of four leading picture thinkers.
