Commerical

Located in an industrial sector of Christchurch city, this landscaping design was derived from the sites historical proximity to the existing railroad tracks and from the existing building with its bold rectilinear forms. The straight, clean edges of the landscape planning elements reflect the simple clean geometry of the building. A minimum of plant species and materials has been carefully selected to offer striking contrasts in colour and texture. The parallel strips of concrete edging, with washed river stones between, evoke the nearby train tracks. Clipped hedges run in these bands and are shaped to mirror the sloping angle of the existing veranda at the building entrance.

Residential Streetscape & Subdivision Design

The Moorcroft subdivision is project that showcased our landscape planning ability to develop the streetscape design from concept to completion. The range of landscaping design services that we provided included entrance design, planting plans, reserve and playground development as well as site supervision and technical advice. We have been engaged as the lead Landscape Architects on various subdivision developments in all parts of the country.

Community Parks & Recreation

Morgan Pollard & Associates landscape architects and designers have also been involved in a number of community parks and recreational landscape construction projects. Ranging from small playground facilities to large-scale open space corridors we work to find unique recreational environments that target the public’s needs.

Brackenridge Estate, a residential community providing assisted living for people with intellectual disabilities. Morgan Pollard & Associates landscape architects were asked by the administration to design a recreational facility for the eighty plus residents that would provide an invigorating and stimulating learning environment. The design concept generated an open park among a grove of existing pine trees with meandering footpaths, a timber maze and a spiraling earth ramp.
